Who each service is for, what you receive, what to bring.

Health Checkup — the annual kenkou shindan, in English

For people in Japan who need a pre-employment or annual examination without doing it in Japanese. It covers the medical interview, height, weight, BMI and waist, blood pressure, vision, hearing, urinalysis, and blood work (complete blood count, liver function, lipids, blood glucose, HbA1c). Book ahead, ideally a morning slot, as some blood tests need eight hours of fasting; bring photo ID and any employer or municipal voucher. Allow 60–90 minutes. Medical Certificates — paperwork your insurer can read

For anyone needing an official document in English: an insurance claim, a sick note, an airline’s fit-to-fly requirement, or a health certificate for a visa or job. We issue English diagnosis certificates (shindan-sho), itemised English receipts, fit-to-fly letters, proof-of-visit letters, and English referral letters for an extra ¥11,000. Certificates rest on an examination performed here, so bring your passport, any records you have, and your insurer’s claim form, printed or on your phone, which we can complete. Corporate Health — for HR teams with international staff

Employers in Japan must screen employees on hiring and once a year afterwards, and foreign staff are not exempt. Our programme is run in English throughout, from the pre-screening questionnaire to the physician’s explanation and the written report. No minimum group size; large groups can be split across several days. Each employee gets an individual English PDF report with results, reference ranges and recommendations, sent to your HR contact within about two weeks. Allow about 60 minutes per person. Vaccination — seasonal flu and boosters

The main vaccine is the seasonal flu shot, a quadrivalent inactivated vaccine offered roughly October to January while supplies last: one dose for adults, two doses two to four weeks apart for children under 13, with protection building over about two weeks. A COVID-19 booster can be given when one is available under Japan’s national programme, but stock and eligible ages change each season, so confirm first. Paediatric doses are case by case — call ahead. For pre-travel vaccines, contact us in advance to check stock and lead times; yellow fever is not offered here. Insurance, Payment and Access

No Japanese national health insurance is needed to be seen here. Visitors and residents without it are treated on a self-pay basis, with itemised English receipts and English certificates so you can claim afterwards from a travel or private insurer — our insurance claim guide lists the documents usually required. Flu vaccination and certificate issuance fall outside Japanese insurance anyway.

• Payment is by credit card only. We cannot accept cash, so please bring a card that works in Japan.
• The clinic is on the 7th floor and is not barrier-free, so it cannot accommodate wheelchair users.

These are planned, non-emergency services. For chest pain, difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, a seizure or loss of consciousness, call 119 for an ambulance immediately rather than travelling to the clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment?

Health checkups do, so we can reserve time and explain the fasting rule beforehand, and corporate screenings are arranged ahead. For vaccination we accept walk-ins but recommend booking, especially in flu season, to confirm stock. For general consultations and most certificates, walk-ins are welcome.

Can I use these services without Japanese health insurance?

Yes. Tourists, business travellers and residents without it are treated on a self-pay basis and receive an itemised English receipt, plus an English medical certificate where a document is needed — what most insurers ask for.

How long until I get my results or documents?

Standard certificates and English receipts are usually same-day; documents depending on laboratory work take 1–3 business days, an individual checkup report 5–7 business days, corporate reports about two weeks. If you have already left Tokyo, documents can be sent digitally.

Can I pay in cash?

No. We accept credit cards only, for every service including checkups, vaccinations and certificates.
